South Park Blue Suit
ohhim
Got an odd offer via CD-Now for unlimited $6.99 CDs with free shipping via BMG Music service (no commitments, etc..).

I'm kinda apprehensive since I suspect that they aren't full royalty sales (and I have a thing about support artists), and I could have done the "get 12 free, buy 1, quit, repeat" thing if I wanted to screw artists and had some free time, but am teetering on picking up the following:

Cowboy Junkies - Miles From Our Home - I just can't get enough of margo timmons voice...
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots - just too damn well arranged
Ministry - Greatest Fits - supporting Al's nasty habit, one snort at a time
Bruce Springsteen - The Rising - sure
Semisonic - All About Chemistry - finishing up my semisonic collection
Jurassic-5 - Power In Numbers - great live show last weekend, might as well pick up an album
Wilco - A.M. - Being there will now round out the collection
Miles Davis - Sketches Of Spain (Remastered) - More miles
Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Mark O'Connor - Appalachia Waltz - I've kinda wanted this album for about 10 years now, but just haven't pulled the trigger
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation - Smack me upside the head for not owning this by now
Sigur Rós - ( ) - More of a mood thing
Astor Piazzolla - The Rough Dancer And The Cyclical Night - Who woulda thunk that an accordian could be such a dirty instrument
Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash singing Personal Jesus and Hurt... who could have asked for anything more...

I think I'll do it, since I'm not too worried about dropping $91 on 13 albums (given I'll usually pay that for 6), but will probably chop off about 3 more that I don't think I'll listen to.

My last 3 would be Sigur Ros (never listened to much of them, but I like GSYBE! and critics keep on drooling over them), Johnny Cash (I'd prefer some of the american label covers instead), and Ministry (I've never really gotten into Al, but feel ashamed for having about 25 industrial albums with no Ministry), but will probably pick all of it up given the tasty price.

If anyone else out there is up for it, just e-mail me or reply, and I'll forward the offer (expires 5/4/03). Selection is limited (especially if you have comparably odd tastes), but you might be able to find one or two items of interest.

Weight this morning - 330

That had better be a misprint, or you've been gaining hardcore weight and hiding it.

On an unrelated note, I don't have Daydream Nation on CD yet -- I have a tape of it I bought freshman year of HS still floating around. Someday I'll rectify that.

Thanks... better fix that before my mom has a heart attack...
